Annual Events

The Grosse Pointe Yacht Club hosts a variety of annual events for our members, and there is something to look forward to every season.

Club Traditions

The GPYC is rich with traditions, many of them taking the form of our annual events. In the spring, we have our Back to the Club event, welcoming back members back to the GPYC after the long winter. The Blessing of the Fleet on Memorial Day is a ceremony led by our Fleet Chaplain, who blesses all the boats in the Harbor for a safe summer. Sailing enthusiasts will love the annual GPYC Summer Regatta, which invites sailors from all over to compete. The Fleet Review in August lights up the Harbor and invites members to decorate their boats for a chance at a grand prize. And the Commodore’s Ball is held every year to celebrate the Club’s new Commodore – it’s a chance to break out your finest evening wear and dance the night away.

Holidays

The holidays are always a merry affair at the GPYC, and we aren’t just talking about Christmas. You can expect top tier food, service and experience for every holiday at our Club, from Christmas, Mother’s Day and Halloween to Easter, Memorial Day and Labor Day. Plus, we always honor our Veteran’s with a Veteran’s Day Brunch. These events are fun for the whole family, and they always offer the perfect photo op.

Rendezvous Schedule

Each year, the GPYC plans a rendezvous schedule for both boaters and non-boaters alike to explore Michigan and nation-wide yacht clubs. It is a chance to travel with your fellow members and make memories to last a lifetime. Annual rendezvous events happen up north, in Florida, and in close by marinas like Milliken Marina in downtown Detroit.

Seasonal Events

The GPYC is a Club for all seasons, not just for summer. We celebrate Winter Fest Family Week every January to brush off the winter blues. In the fall the Club is happening with the Fall Auto Show Family Festival, Oktoberfest, and the annual Wild Game Dinner. Plus, you can expect seasonal wine tastings all year long.
