Featuring Veterans & Their Service Dogs

Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs will once again be featured at the Veteran’s Day Breakfast on Sunday, November 10, from 10:30 a. m.-1 p.m. in the Ballroom. GPYC member Mary Lamparter who is the Guardian Angels Michigan Regional Coordinator, will share the story of this amazing organization and what an impact these service dogs have on their Veteran’s lives. You’ll meet several Veterans and their service dogs and hear firsthand how these dogs impacted and, in some cases, saved their lives. For more information about the organization, click here.

Commander Natalie Dunbar of the Grosse Pointe Power Squadron invites all Club members to the GPPS November 13 meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. at the GPYC.

The November speaker is the author of Know Your Ships, Roger LeLievre. He will discuss his passion for ships that ply the inland seas. His book will be available for purchase and would make a great Christmas gift for the boater in your life.

The Doors Tribute Concert

Join us in the Main Dining Room for this action-packed night of fun. Comedian Mark Knope will open the night with a must-see show. He’s been seen on Comedy Central, ABC & Comcast, and his two CDs have been featured on SiriusXM Satellite Radio – he’s also made multiple appearance on The Bob & Tom Show. No two shows are exactly alike, as Knope energetically sprinkles with audience improvisation. Directly after the comedy show, transport yourself to the 1960s with the Detroit Doors Tribute Band. This well-known group brings high energy, exceptional sound and The Doors, of course.The band’s authenticity in performing The Doors’ catalogue of songs is second to none.
